Virtualizing Organic Chemistry Labs

Through an exploratory grant, DELTA teamed up with Maria Gallardo-Williams to create five virtual reality organic chemistry lab experiences. The student-focused and inclusive experience immerses users into the lab.

EDUCAUSE Annual Conference 2018 Highlights

NC State University was well represented at the 2018 EDUCAUSE Annual Conference held Oct. 30 - Nov. 2, 2018, in Denver, Colorado. Eleven DELTA staff members attended the conference and shared back their key takeaways.

The First Impressions virtual reality module received a 2018 Campus Technology Impact Award in the teaching and learning category. Developed in partnership with the Global Training Initiative, the experience allows students to dive into the minds of a global project team.

As part of an exploratory grant project for a landscape architecture course, Postdoctoral Research Scholar Muntazar Monsur and Teaching Assistant Professor Carla Delcambre are working with a team of dedicated DELTA staff members to create an immersive, 3D environment that students can explore using virtual reality headsets.

Award-Winning Game Teaches Cultural Competency

First Impressions, a virtual reality learning experience developed by DELTA and NC State Global Training Initiative, took home a bronze medal in the 2018 International Serious Play Awards, which recognize excellence in games designed for use in K-12 or higher education settings.
