All NC State instructors who use Moodle have access to the Brickfield Accessibility+ Toolkit, which can help check for accessibility issues in your Moodle projects and course spaces. The tool will scan your course and identify errors it finds based on its analysis of the HTML code behind the content. The toolkit offers some wizards that provide a quick interface for fixing some errors it finds. To get started, check out the Brickfield playlist on DELTA’s YouTube channel and use the Brickfield User Guide as a step-by-step set of instructions for using the tool.
DELTA offers many other resources to support making online course content accessible:
- Visit our Teaching Resources site for articles on UDL and neurodiverse learners as well as a Digital Accessibility Guide.
- WolfSNAPS: Reaching All Learners is a short, focused, flexible, asynchronous training that will help you incorporate principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to meet the needs of all of your students.
- Stay tuned for upcoming details on a regular Thursday accessibility workshop series coming up this fall! More details to come.
You can also participate in accessibility skill-building through workshops from OIT, including Digital Accessibility Basics, Creating Accessible Course Content and Creating Accessible Google and Office Files.
