End-of-Semester Updates to DELTA Instructional Tools – Spring 2026
As we approach the end of the spring semester, there are a few important changes and updates to DELTA instructional tools that instructors should be aware of. Please review the information below to prepare for the semesters ahead.
PlayPosit Is Transitioning to WeVideo Interactivity
PlayPosit is transitioning to WeVideo Interactivity. While the interface will look slightly different, the tool functions the same way you’re used to. The target transition date is May 15, during DELTA’s scheduled maintenance window.
What you need to do: Existing PlayPosit activities will update automatically. You may just need to click into your activity to initialize the update. In Moodle, the activity type will appear as “WeVideo / PlayPosit.”
Everything you rely on is staying the same — creating interactive videos (bulbs), embedding them in your course, and your student interaction and grading workflows will all continue to work as expected.
Along with the updated interface and name, WeVideo Interactivity also introduces new AI-supported interaction features you can explore if you choose.
A note on video editing: DELTA is currently evaluating the video editing features available in WeVideo, but these tools will not be enabled for faculty at this time. You can continue using your existing video sources — such as Panopto, YouTube, and others — just as you do today.
Updated Panopto Lecture Capture Storage Policy
DELTA has updated its storage policy for Panopto Lecture Capture to give faculty more flexibility. If your courses are recorded, you will continue to have full access to those recordings for the following semester. At the end of each spring semester, recordings from all previous semesters are moved to an offline archive, where they are now retained for three years — up from the previous one-year retention period.
If you need to access an archived recording, simply click on the archived video link to begin the restoration process. Unarchiving typically takes two to three days. This change is designed to give you more time and flexibility to share lecture recordings with students and colleagues as needed.
Google File Picker No Longer Available in Moodle
Beginning May 2026, users will no longer be able to add files from Google Drive directly to Moodle using the Google Drive repository within the Moodle file picker. For full details on this change and alternative methods for adding content from Google Drive to Moodle, please see DELTA’s Knowledge Base article.
DELTA Maintenance Window: May 11–16
DELTA is planning a maintenance window from Monday, May 11, through Saturday, May 16. During this time, many DELTA learning technology tools will be impacted for brief periods. The standard maintenance window runs from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
Please plan accordingly and avoid scheduling any critical course activities that depend on DELTA tools during this period. For more details, visit the Maintenance Information and Calendar.
DELTA is here to support you. If you have questions about these updates or any of DELTA’s instructional technology tools, please contact the Learn Tech Help Desk.
