ELI Annual Meeting Recap

Members of the NC State community traveled to San Diego, California in June for the Annual ELI meeting sponsored by EDUCAUSE, a nonprofit association “whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology,” according to their website.

Fall DELTA workshops are now available in Reporter for registration. All your favorite topics are available again this fall with a concentration on the Moodle 4 upgrade. Both virtual and in-person options are available for most of the offerings.

DELTA Express Grants for Fall 2022 have been announced! We are excited to offer two grant types this fall — 3D Object Scanning Grant and Instructional Tools Grant. The proposal submission system will be open from Aug. 22 - Sept. 16.

DELTA Produced Virtual Tours Promote Exploration

Ten virtual tours were created for NC State as a result of DELTA’s new Express Grant for Virtual Tours in 2021-22 — some inside buildings and some in the great outdoors. These tours provide immersive experiences for students, prospective students and the greater community.

DELTA Supports Development of New Textile Reverse-Engineering Course

A DELTA Grant supported the development of a new online graduate-level textile course which focused on the reverse-engineering of products. The resulting deliverables for this course were presented at the American Society for Engineering Education Conference in June.

The DELTA team provided innovative solutions to course content delivery challenges through Instructional Tools Grants during the 2021-2022 academic year. These express grants are completed in just one semester and provide course improvements to facilitate student success.

VCS Team Pivots to Provide Support for Online International Conference

DELTA Video Communications Services professionals (VCS) successfully orchestrated the flow of information during the online 11th International Workshop on Microplasmas conference. The conference delivered content to more than 200 participants over the course of four days in June and the VCS team recorded and edited 36 presentation videos.

U.S. Marine Earns Online Degree After Serving Abroad

Active U.S. Marine succeeds in NC State’s Leadership in the Public Sector online degree-completion program after serving abroad overcoming many obstacles. He will graduate in May of 2022 at the in-person commencement ceremony.
