LearnTech Team Highlights: Helpful Instructional Technology Knowledge Articles for Managing Your Course
Instructors have the ability to export Quiz attempts, including responses, question text and correct answers in a number of different formats. This article provides instructions on using the “Results” page to download responses to essay questions.
Moodle course pages can have varied types of activities and resources contained on and within them. The “Folder Resource” can be used to organize multiple course files in one location for the purpose of keeping the main course page clutter-free.
The Single View gradebook page can be used to grade students’ work in bulk for manual grade items, or to provide scores to overridden grade items such as Assignments, Forums, and Quizzes.
A grade override can be applied to any automatic grade item in a course, such as the grade from an Assignment, Quiz, or Forum. An override replaces the existing score on a grade item entirely. It can be applied to a category total or individual grade item.
Offering both real-time and self-paced engagement options, Wooclap serves as a dynamic platform for polls and interactive surveys. When integrated with Moodle courses through the Wooclap activity feature, it provides seamless access for both faculty and students, while enabling automatic grade synchronization based on participation or results.
Faculty who integrate Wooclap’s polling and questionnaire features into their Moodle courses can transfer student participation data and event results back to Moodle’s gradebook for assessment purposes.
Students may complete quizzes asynchronously during a broad timespan. The review options allow instructors to indicate what information a student can see about the quiz (grade, responses, etc.) and when that information is made available (right after the quiz, while it’s still open and others are completing it, or after it closes and all students should have finished the quiz).
There are situations when faculty must provide separate activity settings (access dates, time limit, number of attempts, etc.) for either an individual student or group of students. The Overrides tool permits them to set individualized task settings to accommodate the individual student’s or group of students needs.
Faculty members who discover a problematic or confusing question in their Moodle quiz can modify it for future assignments while also adjusting recent student scores to account for these corrections.
Faculty might need to reorganize gradebook items between categories to align with specific grading schemes. They may also want to rearrange items to better illustrate their role in determining the final course grade.
The bulk import feature allows users to take a CSV file with student identifiers and grade data, and upload it to a specific Moodle grade item in the course. This is especially useful when administering in person exams that need to have actual grades entered back into Moodle.
