Enhance Learning with Micro-Learning Tools
Teaching with Tech Tip: February 2025
In today’s fast-paced educational environment, micro-learning is a powerful strategy for presenting instructional content in a way that helps students retain information and stay engaged. Delivering content in small, focused chunks makes it easier for learners to absorb key concepts without feeling overwhelmed. While micro-learning can be achieved using interactive tools, static content can also still be considered micro-learning as well when it has been broken down into the essentials for students.
Ask yourself, “What do students need to remember in 10 years?” and “What content directly aligns with my learning objectives for students?” Then think about what content needs to stay and what can be removed. The essential content can be shared and organized via tools like H5P or NC State books.
In Moodle, H5P Interactive Book Activity and the NC State Book Activity are useful tools for creating these bite-sized learning experiences. These tools enable you to present static content in visually engaging formats, organize information into clear sections, and with H5P, even add interactive elements to reinforce learning.
