Mid-semester is a great time to solicit feedback from your students. Mid-semester check-ins allow you time to make adjustments to your course after finding out from students how course materials and activities are working for them. By using the Feedback activity in Moodle to poll your students, you can learn about their successes, concerns, and suggestions in a survey format. Here are some features that make this a very useful tool for mid-semester check-ins as well as other survey needs you may have:

  • A variety of question types: short or long answer, multiple choice, dropdown list, numeric answer, and more.
  • The opportunity to direct a student to a question based on how they answered a previous one.
  • Response analysis that shows a graphical summary of the results for each question, and the option of letting students see aggregated answers, if desired.
  • Customizable text to provide commentary or directions to students after they complete the Feedback activity
