NC State Adopts Blackboard Collaborate as New SLMS

In 2011-2012, DELTA staff facilitated a comprehensive search process (which included input from DELTA staff, instructional faculty and instructional technology support staff from across campus) for a replacement for Elluminate Live!, the university’s synchronous learning management system (SLMS). Based on the evaluation findings, the SLMS search committee recommends keeping Blackboard Collaborate as the replacement for Elluminate as the university’s SLMS at this time, with a commitment to be open to future reviews of the SLMS space.

The committee’s recommendation to adopt Blackboard Collaborate was approved by the LMS Steering Committee and DELTA on September 21, 2012.
