SARA Streamlines Education for Out-of-State Students

The State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) allows NC State to offer its online and distance education courses to out-of-state students. NC State was approved in October 2016 to participate in SARA-North Carolina as one of the first few institutions in the state to join.

A Work in Progress: Adding WolfWare Tools

The Applications Development team has been working to create new tools in WolfWare. The WolfWare Email tool and WolfWare WordPress will be available as a technology preview in Fall 2017. The new tools are being introduced to replace pieces of WolfWare Classic functionality.

Creative Director Mike Cuales Receives NC State University Award for Excellence

Creative Director of DELTA’s New Media Development Mike Cuales was honored with the NC State University Awards for Excellence at the recognition ceremony June 7 at Talley Student Union. The award is the most prestigious honor bestowed upon non-faculty employees.

Explore the DELTA Blended Learning Course Grant for VMC 949 in this Work in Progress feature. A team of DELTA staff members are working to innovatively use the Moodle mobile app for competency tracking and create an onboarding training module to connect students, faculty and community-based learning sites.

A new Inside DELTA highlighting the life of DELTA staff in their day-to-day work routines and life outside of the workplace. Ben Huckaby is a Lead Interaction Designer/Developer at DELTA where he focuses on designing and developing games and online interactions for education. Huckaby is also a DJ and avid cyclist.

Provost Warwick Arden Visits DELTA

On April 19, Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Warwick Arden visited DELTA to give staff members an opportunity to discuss relevant projects and provide an overview of DELTA’s many services. The provost toured the Centennial Campus Testing Center and the Center for Technology and Innovation.

A Work in Progress: Virtual Field Trips for BIO 181

A team of DELTA staff and Biology faculty Miriam Ferzli, Lisa Paciulli and Betty Black are working to immerse students in field-based experiences where they find and observe organisms in their natural habitats as part of Introductory Biology: Ecology, Evolution and Biodiversity (BIO 181).
