The Group Choice activity in Moodle allows students to choose their own groups, making it ideal for team-based assignments or organizing group activities within a course. This activity creates an opportunity for student ownership of their learning and can help them collaborate with peers with whom they feel comfortable or have something in common. Group choice also simplifies the group formation process, reducing the administrative burden on instructors.

To learn more about how it works and set it up in your course, review the knowledge base article “Using the Group Choice Activity in Moodle.”
