DELTA Grants Save the Date
DELTA Grants are back! For more than 20 years DELTA Grants have helped to support the creation of online courses, explore new technologies for teaching, seed new online programs, assist in the redesign of blended and face-to-face courses and enhance and update existing courses.
DELTA Grants are given in a variety of different categories including:
- Course Design: provides funding and DELTA staff assistance for the design and development of research based and quality-focused course support efforts that include the creation of instructional materials to expand or substantially revise an established course.
- Course Improvement: provides funding and DELTA staff guidance for faculty who currently teach online/hybrid and are seeking to build upon their existing knowledge and skills in pursuit of improving one of their online courses to obtain Quality Matters certification.
- Critical Path: funds the redesign of large enrollment or critical path courses on the undergraduate level which are required by the major, college or university for graduation.
- Exploratory: provides funding to examine a single application or to address a unique instructional challenge in an existing course.
- Faculty Fellows: sponsors NC State faculty to work with DELTA to share their experience teaching and learning with technology, allowing the campus community to benefit from their expertise.
Those who wish to tackle an instructional challenge or add more components to an existing course may be interested in our Course Design or Critical Path grants. For faculty who want to explore technology, we offer the Exploratory grants. Faculty who are well-versed in teaching with technology may consider applying for a DELTA Faculty Fellow grant.
This year we are adding the Course Improvement DELTA Grant. This grant is in the Course Quality Program, formerly known as the Online Course Improvement Program. This grant is ideal for faculty who currently teach online/hybrid and are seeking to build upon their existing knowledge and skills in pursuit of improving one of their online courses.
Though its name has changed, the Course Improvement Grant model has remained the same. It is a collaborative model which includes a cohort (group) of faculty peers and DELTA staff working together to design a course that meets the nationally recognized standards of the Quality Matters organization.
Previous recipients have used DELTA Grants to adapt to the challenges of COVID-19, ensure online physical education classes are just as rigorous as their in-person counterparts and increase student engagement.
