PopeTech for Canvas

Check out this month's accessibility quick tip and get ready for PopeTech in Canvas!

PopeTech

New LMS, new accessibility tools!

With Canvas project spaces now available, we have a new accessibility tool available for checking content as you create it, and for scanning courses for issues: PopeTech.

This is the same tool that can be found powering the WAVE toolbar for reviewing websites, and it provides just-in-time support while you’re creating or editing content. Look for the “Accessibility Guide” button next to the Save and Cancel buttons anytime you’re editing content in Canvas. This button opens a side panel that provides a report on issues within that piece of content, tools for fixing them, and more information about each.

PopeTech also shows up in your course navigation links, called “Pope Tech Accessibility,” and provides a course-level view and reports of any areas of concern.

For more information and links to Pope Tech’s support documentation, see our Teaching Resources article, Creating an Accessible Canvas Course.
