NC State instructors now have access to the paid version of the Google Chrome Extension: Revision History. Instructors can use it to replay document creation, analyze student writing patterns, track editing history and detect copy/paste activity. These insights can help instructors better understand students’ writing processes and assess the time and effort students have put into assignments created in Google Docs. This is helpful when discussing assignment development or academic integrity concerns.

PlayPosit is now WeVideo. While the name and interface have changed, your existing interactive videos and the tool functionality remain the same. For more information, review our updated WeVideo Teaching Resources article.

H5P and Top Hat remain available in Moodle but will not be supported in Canvas. If you are an instructor who has used these tools in Moodle, you should receive an email with more details about the transition. We recommend that you do not create new H5P activities, limit new use of Top Hat, and consider using Wooclap for new classroom response activities.

Moodle Updates

All instructors will transition from Moodle to Canvas over the next two years, with the first Canvas courses launching in summer 2027. If you’re building a new Moodle course, now is a great time to use Canvas-friendly design practices. This can make your future course migration much easier. The Google File Picker is no longer available in Moodle. Users will no longer be able to add files from Google Drive directly to Moodle using the Google Drive repository within the Moodle file picker.
