Panopto videos have the ability to include self-contained assessments directly within the video. The Moodle Panopto activity can also passback these quiz scores directly to the Moodle Gradebook.

Instructors can change the names of activities and resources on the Moodle course page. This enables more descriptive names and action verbs to be applied to specific activities to aid students in their navigation throughout the course.

Instructors may need to move items into and out of specific gradebook categories based on their particular grading scheme. Additionally they may simply want to reorganize the location of gradebook items to clarify how they contribute to the final course grade.

Moodle’s Essay question type can be used to provide an open, long-form textual or multimedia response to a question. It can be configured to allow for the student to directly type into the Quiz, provide a file, or both. This essay question type is then manually graded by the instructor once the quiz is completed by the student.

Moodle provides additional statistical information about the student’s performance on a quiz and on specific questions. This article outlines where to find those statistics and some additional information about what data is provided.

Moodle courses have various activities and resources contained in them. One of those resources is called the Page Resource which can be used to organize varied types of content. Examples include plain text, images, audio, video, embedded code or a combination. Pages can also be leveraged as a method to organize large quantities of content in one location and keep the main course page clutter-free.

Grade categories calculate totals based on aggregation, and present those totals as a grade type, such as a numeric value. Instructors’ grading schemes may require that they adjust the final grade type that should be displayed for the student.

There may be situations where the grade data for a specific grade item or items has been collected in another location outside of Moodle. This article explains how to organize and upload that data directly into the Moodle gradebook in bulk by using a CSV spreadsheet.

If instructors use the Moodle gradebook to calculate their students’ official course grades, they can then use the WolfWare Grade Submit Tool to enter their final grades into MyPack (SIS). This will improve accuracy and save time, while avoiding the need to manually enter final grades.
