Alexis Lockett Receives University Award for Excellence
DELTA Online and Distance Education (ODE) Program Manager Alexis Lockett won one of the 12 NC State University Awards for Excellence on June 8, the most prestigious award non-faculty employees can earn at NC State.
The Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost awarded Lockett with their Award for Excellence in March which put Lockett in the running for the University Award for Excellence.
Lockett’s job began only nine days before Chancellor Randy Woodson announced that classes would move to online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, Lockett’s tenure has been marked by the need to adapt to new challenges. Her position was new when she started, combining administrative and advisory roles.
Lockett was nominated by Associate Vice Provost of Online and Distance Education Tim Petty for her work at DELTA in efficiency and innovation.
“Alexis provided direction, support and oversight to the team during difficult circumstances,” Petty said. “She analyzed workflows, identified key areas of focus, and prioritized work for her team, as well as implementing a team training program that increased productivity and efficiency.”
Lockett, as well as her 11fellow winners, is now eligible for a Governor’s Award for Excellence, which is open toall North Carolina state employees.
