DELTA Welcomes 2020-2021 Faculty Fellows
DELTA welcomes five new Faculty Fellows for the 2020-2021 academic year. DELTA’s group of Faculty Fellows are committed to sharing their knowledge of teaching with technology through leading workshops, presenting at conferences and writing articles. We are excited to work with this year’s driven group of Faculty Fellows.
The 2020-2021 class of Faculty Fellows include:
- Michelle Bartlett, coordinator for the education doctorate (Ed.D.) in community college leadership and teaching assistant professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy and Human Development in the College of Education.
- Lina Battestilli, teaching associate professor in the Department of Computer Science in the College of Engineering.
- Elaine Bohórquez, teaching associate professor in the Prestage Department of Poultry Science in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
- Christine Cranford, senior lecturer in the Department of English in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
- Julianne Treme, teaching associate professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
The five new Faculty Fellows will join Annette Moore, teaching associate professor in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management in the College of Natural Resources. Moore is continuing her grant from the 2019-2020 academic year. During the first year of her Faculty Fellows partnership, Moore regularly revised her courses to implement new technologies. She used her knowledge of learning technologies, including Top Hat and PlayPosit, to guide her colleagues in the switch to online courses in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring semester of 2020.
Each Faculty Fellow has specific skills and experiences to offer in their partnership with DELTA, and they plan to use these skills to the advantage of NC State faculty and students. Their individual knowledge of technology best practices in education allow them to positively impact the NC State community.
The Faculty Fellows grant began in 2015 and has grown each year, becoming an esteemed program in the NC State community. In the Faculty Fellows program’s fifth year, the main goal remains to promote excellence in teaching with technology by fostering the exchange of ideas and interdisciplinary partnerships.
