New Touchless Orientations for DELTA Classrooms
Faculty can expect DELTA classroom orientations to look different this year, as DELTA Video Communication Services (VCS) has recently released a new video format in lieu of face-to-face meetings. This transition to provide touchless orientations for DELTA classroom users is one of many steps that DELTA is making to Protect the Pack.
“The goal is to provide faculty with a resource, particularly those that are new to our classrooms and for those needing a refresher, to give them confidence teaching in our media-rich classroom environment,” says Shawn Colvin, DELTA Classroom Services Manager and lead on the project. “It keeps everyone safe and limits potential exposure.”
The seven-part video series provides an overview of the classrooms’ layout and equips faculty with the knowledge and tools needed to make the most of the available recording technology such as cameras, microphones and Mediasite hardware.

As undergraduate classes transition to an online format for the remainder of the fall 2020 semester, faculty members currently in a DELTA classroom can continue to use the space during their scheduled time to record lectures. Additionally, all NC State faculty members may reserve time in a DELTA classroom to prepare course content in support of remote learning.
