Pearson Named 2008 University Award for Excellence Winner

Forty-seven nominees from across the University were honored; five were named winners. This award recognizes excellence in the areas of outstanding state government service, innovations, public service, safety and heroism, and human relations.
Pearson manages the daily operations of the distance education classrooms and video production services to various clients of the NC State community. The video classrooms have evolved into state-of-the-art facilities, and along with that evolution has come many challenges. As the methods for teaching and learning via distance education have changed, Pearson has been on top of the latest technologies to help make the video classrooms as efficient as possible, while maintaining quality production values. He is an incredibly talented individual and Distance Education would not be what it is today without Pearson’s perseverance, determination, and dedication.
Pearson and the other University Awards for Excellence winners will represent NC State University at the State Employees Award for Excellence. Congratulations to Tony Pearson and good luck on the state level!
