Speed Geeking with Instructional Technology Tools
Aug. 11 | 12-3:45 p.m. | DELTA’s Main Office at Center for Technology and Innovation on Centennial Campus
Join us in-person for a high-energy, lunch-and-learn speed geeking session where you can explore instructional technology tools through rapid-fire demos and then join a hands-on workshop to learn more. This interactive event features eight timed, 5-minute rounds showcasing: Digital Whiteboarding, Gradescope, Padlet, Perusall, VoiceThread, WeVideo (formerly known as PlayPosit), WooClap, and Yellowdig. Build Better Instructional Videos: From Recording to Interactive Learning
Aug. 6 | 9:30-11:30 a.m. | Zoom
Record, edit, enhance and share instructional videos in this one workshop! Participants will learn to use Panopto to record and perform basic edits, e.g., trimming on their instructional videos. The session will then explore how to add interactivity using Panopto’s built-in features like quizzes and how to go further with WeVideo (formerly known as PlayPosit) to add interactive layers, including reflective pauses, polling, multiple choice questions, discussion, and more. Finally, we will cover how to integrate these videos into Moodle and monitor student progress. Note: Panopto and WeVideo will also work in Canvas.
The Augmented Instructor: Building AI Fluency for Teaching
Aug. 4 | 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. | Location coming soon
This 3.5-hour in-person workshop helps instructors build practical, human-centered AI fluency for teaching. Participants will learn how to use generative AI tools to support course design, content creation, and assessment — while preserving essential human skills such as critical thinking, communication, and disciplinary judgment. Participants leave with practical strategies, reusable prompts, and concrete ideas for balancing AI use with meaningful student learning.
