DELTA Staff Receive 2019 Telly Awards

We’re pleased to announce that DELTA’s Instructional Media Production team has been honored with two Telly Awards!

The Telly Awards celebrate outstanding work in video and television with a wide array of awards and categories. To highlight The Telly Awards’ 40th anniversary this year, the organization chose the theme A Story for Every Screen, recognizing the quality of video and television production across all platforms, including social networks, branded content, instructional materials, virtual reality and more. Winners were announced on May 21, 2019.   

The following DELTA projects were Bronze Winners in the General Education — Non-Broadcast categories for 2019:

LARRY PERKINS PORTRAIT. The video was created and directed by Associate Producer Todd Buker as an instructional resource for Sports and Entertainment Venue Management courses, specifically PRT 491 Sports Facilities. Michael Kanters of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management served as the principal investigator, and Bethanne Tobey served as lead instructional designer.

FROM FIRE COMES LIGHT. The video was developed for the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources’ Fire Ecology course and focuses on the southeastern United States’ designation as a biodiversity hotspot. Associate Director, Instructional Media Productions John Gordon directed and produced the video. Jennifer Costanza of the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources served as the principal investigator, and Bethanne Tobey served as the instructional designer. Todd Buker and Arthur Earnest also played key roles in the field production shoot.

Special recognition goes to Michael Castro for his excellent cinematography work on both projects. Statuettes will be on display in the Instructional Media Production suite at Park Shops.
