Upcoming Seminar! “MOOCs and OOCs at NC State: Current Work and Lessons Learned”
DELTA is pleased to invite all NC State faculty and staff to its upcoming seminar, “MOOCs and OOCs at NC State: Current Work and Lessons Learned,” where we’ll explore the future of massive open online courses (MOOCs) and open online courses (OOCs) at NC State University.
The seminar will take place on April 17, from 2:45 – 5:00 p.m., at the Friday Institute, Wachovia Innovation Hall. (Please note that the time for the event has changed). Space is limited, so register now!

Dr. Tom Miller, senior vice provost for Academic Outreach and Entrepreneurship and vice provost at DELTA;

Cathi Phillips Dunnagan, lead instructional designer at DELTA; and

Dan Deter, associate director of Systems Support at DELTA.
Hear from Dr. Franzon about his experiences leading NC State’s first experimental OOC, Digital ASIC Design, in summer 2013. Learn more from Dr. Kleiman about the Friday Institute’s MOOCs for Educators program that, with support from the Gates Grant, helps promote the professional development of K-12 educators in North Carolina and beyond. And hear from Professor Hölljes in his presentation on “UX and Interfacing Big Data.”
We’ll share important lessons we’ve learned from these forays into MOOC/OOC development, and invite a discussion about the roles these courses should play in the future of teaching and learning at NC State.
