When creating new interactive videos in WeVideo Interactive, it’s recommended to log directly into the WeVideo Interactivity editor for a full-screen editor. Instructors attempting to create new interactive videos in the embedded window of a Moodle activity can encounter display issues with the side panel overlapping the embedded video. This article describes the recommended practice for creating new interactive videos in WeVideo Interactivity.

An interactive video in WeVideo is composed of two major parts: a source video, and interactions. For an interactive video to function, the source video must have its sharing settings appropriately configured so any student in a course can access it through the platform used to host the video. This article provides guidance on modifying source video sharing permissions.

After requesting a combined course space that shares multiple rosters, instructors may wish to remove rosters from that combined space to create individual spaces for each roster. This article provides guidance on removing rosters from a combined WolfWare space.

Classroom recordings are organized into an automatically-created Panopto folder. Students enrolled in a class are automatically given viewer access to the classroom recordings folder, but instructors will need to provide them with the link in order for them to easily access the recordings. This article contains instructions for instructors on how to acquire the URL of the Panopto classroom recordings folder.

Activities and resources, such as Assignments or Pages, can be moved out of subsections in a Moodle course and into normal sections in bulk. This is especially useful for restructuring a Moodle course without subsections in advance of migrating a course over to Canvas. This article provides instructions on using the Mass Actions block to move activities and resources out of subsections.

As part of NC State’s transition from Moodle to Canvas, instructors will have the ability to migrate all or part of a Moodle course into Canvas. Because Canvas has different tools and organization than Moodle, some Moodle-based content cannot be transferred over. To help instructors learn more about whether their Moodle materials can be migrated into Canvas, the Canvas Migration Report was added to Moodle. This article explains how to access the report and determine next steps for content that will not transfer into Canvas.

When trying to Backup an entire course, and its content from Moodle, for the purpose of importing that course into Canvas, there are limitations on how much data can be contained within a Canvas course. Currently Canvas at NC State has a maximum course size of 2GB with a working environment of up to 500MB for media files inside a Canvas course. This limitation requires instructors to estimate the file size of the Moodle course that they are trying to transfer over, and potentially reduce it before migration. This article covers creating a rough estimate of the size of a Moodle course, while also providing some guidance on reducing a course’s size for a successful migration to Canvas.

Copying content can be done manually using Moodle’s Backup and Restore feature. Backup allows for specific modules, or an entire course, to be packaged into a file for reuse or migration to Canvas. This article provides instructions on using Backup to package a Moodle course as a file.

In Canvas, Modules are used to organize course content and files by week, unit, chapter, or any other organizational structure preferred by the instructor. Modules can contain files, discussions, quizzes, assignments, and any other content-type available in Canvas. This article provides an overview of Canvas Modules.

Canvas’s Quiz assessment type enables an instructor to create quizzes and surveys with potential grading options. Quizzes also allow for question bank management, and have specific questions assigned to them to challenge student understanding. This article provides an overview of the Quiz assessment type in Canvas.

In Canvas, “Assignments” function as both a way for a student to provide a deliverable to their instructor and as a way for instructors to connect external tools to Canvas. Assignment activities can be assigned to every student in the course or differentiated by section or user. This article provides an overview of Canvas Assignments.

Instructors can use Course Settings to view and update course details, navigation link options, LTI External Tool configurations, feature options, and integrations. Course settings are also used to update student permissions in the course, and to hide or show specific tabs in the course navigation menu. This article provides an overview of the course settings available for Canvas courses.

Per Instructure, “Canvas Discussions provide a built in system for class conversations.” They’re useful as social forums for students to interact or present deliverables to each other. This article provides an overview of the Discussions assessment type in Canvas.
